RICHLAND, WA — Burns & McDonnell, a 100 percent employee-owned engineering, construction, and architecture firm, recently celebrated the opening of a new office in Richland, Washington. This expansion strengthens the firm’s presence in the Pacific Northwest.

“We are honored and proud to be a part of the Tri-Cities, supporting regional clients in building the critical infrastructure necessary for a safe, vibrant, and sustainable future,” said Greg Smith, PE, Project Manager and Leader of the Richland office. “We look forward to building a strong team with robust talent and capabilities to continue to deliver solutions for some of our nation’s most critical needs.”

Key community leaders, including U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse and Richland Mayor Theresa Richardson, joined Burns & McDonnell leadership at a ribbon-cutting and open house to celebrate the firm’s new 2,000-square-foot office space.

“I am thrilled about the opening of Burns & McDonnell’s new office in Richland, Washington,” Newhouse said. “Their innovative business model will add new jobs to our communities and bring about exciting advancements in the energy sector. Burns & McDonnell plays a critical role in the important work being done at Hanford and PNNL, and projects like these are sure to bring new opportunities to the Tri-Cities.”

This strategic expansion bolsters the firm’s commitment to the Department of Energy and its Office of Environmental Management mission. Burns & McDonnell is poised to support new and ongoing projects at the Hanford Site, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), and other national laboratories nationwide.

“It’s incredible to see how quickly this team has come together and started delivering outstanding work for our clients,” said Gene Sieve, PE, Regional Vice President for Burns & McDonnell. “With over 14,000 Burns & McDonnell employees supporting them, they have the knowledge and experience to deliver exceptional engineering and construction projects for the southeast Washington area.”
